Some links:
- I'm not fond of certain types of Indian art, but this exhibition seems to have enough stuff influenced by Persian miniature painting for me not to skip it. The Globe's new guy has a review (haven't read it yet, so no comment from me) and a slideshow to go with it.
- I think this may be the show around these parts that I'd most like to see right now. And a cool website, too, even if it uses frames. Pity there doesn't seem to be an actual catalog, though.
- I don't know what Renaissance altarpieces Blake Gopnik sees selling for around $100,000, but he's right that the Leipzig painters in the Rubell collection don't form a school as such. He doesn't much like them, either (I wrote about the same exhibit when it was at Mass MoCA last year.) I do think it's cool that the MuseumZeitraum Leipzig has a blog, though.
- I haven't had a chance to watch but a few moments yet, but the Smithsonian American Art Museum webcasted their recent symposium on American Art in a Global Context. Cool. Something for a rainy day.
- Some guy in The New Criterion who thinks he knows all about abstract art (subscription required. UPDATE: the firewall has been removed from the post, so click away.) Yeah, right. God damned MSM--that guy will be first up against the wall when the revolution comes.
Congrats, some guy! An awesome development.
