1. "Riot in the Pub" - Sit 'n' Spin
2. "He War" - Cat Power
3. "Cold, Cold Ground" - Tom Waits
4. "Little Latin Lupe Lu" - Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels
5. "Stop Your Sobbing" - The Kinks
6. "Darkness on the Edge of Town" - Bruce Springsteen
7. "You're the Best Thing" - The Style Council
8. "She's Leaving Me Because She Really Wants To" - Lyle Lovett
9. "Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time" - The Stylistics
10. "Good Enough" - Holly Golightly
I need to get some new music. There's what, two songs here from the past decade? And I'm not really sure where the Cat Power came from, though I like it well enough. The Style Council one brings back memories, or it would if I liked them much at the time (I thought "My Ever Changing Moods" was pretty good, but never adjusted from The Jam breaking up.) They may have done many a bad song ("Life at a Top People's Health Farm"? WTF?), but on the half-dozen or so they got right, whew. The Stylistics weren't bad at that game, either. And I've always got a soft spot for Holly Golightly, even if the sound's a bit muddy on that one.
Bonus: "Secret Nothing
" - Cub.
Cat Power came from Salon's Daily Download.
