I noticed a while back and then forgot to mention that two works by one of our faves, Farah Ossouli, had appeared on Artnet, on the page of the Art Space Gallery of Dubai. They were posted some time ago, so I don't know if the gallery even has them anymore - although one doesn't hear much about her for obvious reasons in the U.S., I gather the market for her work is fairly strong. In any event, it raises the question again of whether it would be possible to buy one of these from such a gallery (i.e., not one in Iran.) When I last looked, my understanding was that it would not be; but I'm not entirely sure if, for instance, the work had passed through non-Iran-based hands already before reaching the gallery, whether that would allow it to pass muster. Good luck getting a package from the Middle East through customs unmolested, in any event, I imagine. Especially one with "fragile" stamps on it and the like. Though interested European and Canadian readers (or anywhere else with different import laws and circumstances) might want to take a look.
