Matthew Nash

Not to mention that George Fifield was let go not too long ago. They continue to work with him, and he has one or two shows on the roster, but the curatorial staff is down from 3 to 2 and the director has just departed. Both Fifield and Master-Karnik did great things for the DeCordova and New England. What is happening out in Lincoln?

I didn't mention Fifield, though Geoff Edgers' article did. I really don't want to speculate about what decisions they may be making, or may be forced to make. It's a tough environment everywhere these days, at least if you not one of a small number of fortunate institutions. I hope that whoever takes Master-Karnik's place is able to hold on and then build on what's already there. Whatever criticisms one might have of particular exhibitions, New England needs the DeCordova.
