All morning I've been hearing rumors about a feature on or list of art blogs in the January Art in America (not yet online or available around here.) Now I see a version has leaked, and sad to say, I'm not on it. Fine. I didn't want to be on your stupid list, anyway. A number of high quality sites, many of which I link to and read daily, are on it, though, and some I'm not familiar with but looking forward to learning about. I suppose I'm not surprised to not be included - what I do is similar to a number of other sites on the list, but more amateurish and away from the action. Making a list that reflects a number of different tendencies or directions seems to have been a concern, and it's a valid one. Bastards.
You should have been. I sure didn't hear from the writer -- and I don't know who did.

Howdy!
C'mon it's the bah humbug! season. Have a little kindness in your heart, instead of being bitter that you didn't make the list, send congratulatory notes to those who did.
Heck, the magazine is called "Art in America" I knew straight off the bat, that they weren't gonna be doing diddly about mine.

Dear Mr. Sanchez,
You should have made the list; no question about it.
You are on my top 10 list of must check daily art blogs.
Continue your work and continue your style. It is refreshing.
If it makes you feel any better, I didn't win the MacArthur Foundation "genius grant" this year either!
...there's always next year.
Sincerely,
James W. Bailey

Thanks for the kind comments, but I hasten to add that I'm not really bitter or trolling for compliments, just having a little fun with it. No can resist a little LiveJournal crack, after all. I also thought that those included in AiA might enjoy someone making a friendly show of being envious. While I'm not the sort - generally - to send congratulatory emails, I do really like a lot of the sites listed and think they deserve attention. That's why I link to them, and I look forward to continuing to read them and the new ones I've learned about.
