As most readers have probably already seen, Anne Truitt has died at age 83. Tyler has some thoughts in remembrance in the previous link, as well as pieces from the archives on reading her Daybook. As he says, what a week.
Since like most sites we tend to make fun of Artforum a bit, at this time I'd like to link to a 2002 interview with Truitt by James Meyer. Artnet has a small handful of good images as well. I apologize for the shallow thought, but at the end of a year in which miminalism loomed so large, the death of Truitt following so quickly on that of Agnes Martin feels like a door slamming shut.
